🏔️ Listen to your body and the season it is in 🏔️

Long Time No See Reader,

I have been gone for about 9 months. Gone from the business, gone from my health, gone from my ambitions.

I had spent years building the life I wanted. Working 9-5, working a part time, launching and running a business. Carrying the burden of being the first in many ways in my family and friend groups.

In that journey, I was not taking the time to enjoy the moment and my accomplishments because I often felt like it wasn't good enough. Like there still was more that needed to be accomplished before I could really enjoy it. Like I was not living up to or aligning with the things I "should have accomplished" . But in many ways I had accomplished a lot. As cliche as it sounds I woke up one day and told myself, I am enough, my proudest moments and my lowest moments were enough. This resulted in me taking a step back and enjoying moments with friends, family, and my new home.

In my time away from Be Great By Design specifically, I have not stopped using my Be Great planner. I have not stopped reflecting and aligning with what mattered to me. What I did do was not pigeon hold myself to who or what I was last year. In these last few months, I accepted that I had weeks going to the gym 6 days a week and spans of not going for 2 weeks at a time. But I still showed myself grace.

So what does this mean for you and the way I will continue to foster this very community?

Weeeeellllllll…..With this realignment, I will be sharing lessons from this journey monthly as a way to creep back in your inbox. This is the commitment I am communicating because I will need your help keeping me accountable. Once a month, you will get a recap of my biggest takeaways across the board using my Be Great planner and just navigating life. Maybe as a bonus, you may get a special email if there is something I am dying to share with you.

But before this new format, let’s recap the things that have happened in the last few months.

Since my last email,

. I had took my first solo trip to NOLA for my birthday #PiscesGang♓️

.. I settled into homeownership (are you ever really settled?),

... I hosted some Colby students in Philly,

.... I bought my first car,

..... I took a eating trip to NYC,

...... i dyed my hair,

....... i hosted my first gathering in the house (now 2),

........ I impulsively went to the Roots Picnic and seen Usher,

......... work friends became sisters,

……….Attended my first carnival in Toronto #Carabiana🇨🇦

.....…... I had tough conversations about boundaries and expectations with loved ones

.......….. I put myself out there to do things solo,

The biggest lesson from my disappearance was to tell myself that it is ok to not know what comes next. It is ok to take EVERYTHING day by day. Even if that ruffles some feathers. Most importantly, it is ok to live in the moment with those around you.

Until the new year, happy holidays and I hope you find time for rest and grace.

Thank you for giving me grace and I look forward to connecting with you ❤️

Cheese :)

Happy Hump Day Reader This is a special edition of my newsletter. I am crossing a new horizon tomorrow. If you recall from a previous newsletter, I set my goals and milestones around my birthday. In setting these new goals, I noticed a reoccurring pattern. I was intentional and reflective about what did not serve me thus far, what did serve me and add value, and really where my growth moments are from a mindset and personal development aspect. By way of celebrating my birthday with you, I...
