2023, not a re-do but a reset

Published over 1 year ago • 1 min read

Happy New Year Reader !

Do you feel this energy of a new year, new me? New Year, new goals?

What if it was New Year, reset me? A new year can have the same energy as a new season, new month, new week, or even new day as long as we make the choice to reflect.

You know I am a late processor. The holiday season I take the time to really step back or attempt to enjoy the season. It is a season that I get to enjoy loved ones and rest. But I also process things at a turtle's speed sooo..

If you are anything like me, take the first few weeks of the new calendar year to deeply reflect before you set new goals. Use this time to take stock of what worked for you in 2022? What made you proud? What do you feel like you did not do enough of? What made you genuinely more happy? What did you focus too much on? What did you not focus enough on? All of these questions are important to ask because it forces you into a space of reflection.

As I look back on 2022, everything I wanted, I worked and received. Not because I did a massive overhaul and was consistent but because I set SMART+Why goals and let that be my motivation.

BUT you cannot understand your why until you look inner and attempt to learn where you are starting from. So on you next walk, or long drive, or while you are brushing your teeth, I challenge you to take stock of 2022 for you by answer the following questions

  • What are you the most proud of from 2022?
  • What do you wish you did more of?
  • What did you do to enable your growth?
  • What did you do to prevent your growth?

Write down or even share with me :) I would love to hear your reflections no matter how simple or complex they are.

Smiles,

Bri

Happy Hump Day Reader This is a special edition of my newsletter. I am crossing a new horizon tomorrow. If you recall from a previous newsletter, I set my goals and milestones around my birthday. In setting these new goals, I noticed a reoccurring pattern. I was intentional and reflective about what did not serve me thus far, what did serve me and add value, and really where my growth moments are from a mindset and personal development aspect. By way of celebrating my birthday with you, I...
